The wrong person was recorded

How it happens, and how to put it right properly.

This nearly always comes from a manual entry at the gate, where a name was picked from a search without checking the photo. Occasionally it is two students sharing a card.

Correct it through the correction flow — do not try to delete it. The original entry stays, the correction sits on top, and both show who made them. That is what makes the record trustworthy afterwards rather than merely tidy.

Then find the cause. If a card is being shared, deactivate it and print new ones for both students.
