Set up your school for the first time

The four steps, in order, and roughly how long each one takes.

Do these in order. Each one depends on the one before it, and the whole thing takes about an hour for a school of 500 students — most of which is waiting for ID cards to print.

1. 1Enter your school’s name and country. The country sets your currency and your price band, so pick the real one.
2. 2Choose whether you are a Kindergarten, a Primary or a Secondary school. Your classes appear on their own from that choice — Baby Class to Top Class, Baby Class to P.7, or S.1 to S.6. You are not typing a class list out.
3. 3Create your admin account, and you are in.
4. 4Add your streams in the dashboard — Blue, Gold, East, and so on — under the levels you already have.
5. 5Import your students from a spreadsheet. Download the template, fill it, upload it. Bad rows come back to you with the row number, so nothing vanishes quietly.
6. 6Add your staff and give them roles. Roles are what decide what each person can see.
7. 7Generate and print the ID cards. Every student and staff member gets a QR card.
8. 8Put a phone on the gate, sign a gatekeeper in, and scan.
